Every local child support agency has an Ombudsperson available to assist parents, employers and the community. The Ombudsperson will provide information about the child support program, resolve issues and answer questions. The Ombudsperson evaluates customer satisfaction and suggests ways to improve customer service.
Our Ombudsperson works to resolve complaints about:
- Customer service
- Timeliness of service
- Payment and billing issues
It is her/his job to:
- Help with child support issues
- Explain rights and responsibilities
- Explain and assist in understanding the Complaint Resolution process before, during and after a complaint is filed
- Explain and assist in requesting and preparing for a state hearing if Complaint Resolution process is not satisfactory
- Help arrange for special accommodations or interpreters
- Evaluate customer satisfaction and suggest ways to improve service
