On June 12, 2001, the Board of Supervisors passed
the Child Support Compliance Ordinance #SCC 1195.
The purpose of this ordinance is to ensure that the
County is not contracting with an entity whose principal
owners have not complied with child, family or spousal
support orders.
On February 18, 2003, the Board of
Supervisors approved amendment Ordinance #SCC 1237
to the Child Support Compliance Ordinance previously
passed. Several minor changes were approved, including
exemptions for governmental and non-profit organizations,
Limited Purchase Orders (LPOs) and Department Field
Orders (DFOs). The Board expressed interest in knowing
which bidders refuse to sign the Certification form
so this information will be required by DCSS from
all departments. An annual reporting to the Board
by DCSS is also required.
It is important the Departments
to whom this ordinance applies comply with the County
Ordinance. It is also important the appropriate
form be submitted to provide data for the annual reporting
to the Board of Supervisors. In order to assist
all Departments with this process, a description of
the process and forms can be downloaded below.
